Our amazing itinerary is:
- Oct. 27, 2025—Arrival Day—Private bus transfer from Naples Airport (NAP). The bus will depart around 2 p.m. Check-in at your hotel (in general, check-in is around 3 p.m./4 p.m.). Spend the rest of the evening at leisure. Welcome dinner at the hotel that night.
- Oct. 28, 2025 – Pompeii & Lacryma Christi wine tasting at the feet of Vesuvius – It is a striking experience, setting foot in the ancient city of Pompeii. The enormity of the volcanic havoc on the area is baffling. A licensed, private guide will lead you through the ruins, explain its history layers, and detail how it differed from the destruction of Herculaneum. As a metropolis, Pompeii’s cityscape was chaotic compared to the grid-like neighboring resort city, rendering the experience very real. The location of each city also impacted how Mount Vesuvius consumed them; the population in Pompeii was hit first, thereby leaving less time for escape than those in Herculaneum. The ash and water amalgam that buried Pompeii’s homes and people formed a cement-like coating, freezing the forms in time. Some of the hardened bodies are displayed in the city, which makes for a moving visit to the infamous site.
Before returning to Sorrento, you will stop at a local farmhouse on Mount Vesuvius’s slopes. There, you will taste a unique wine made of a local grape grown only in this area, the Lacryma Christy, along with other local food specialties for your light lunch. Dinner on your own this evening. - Oct. 29, 2025 – Amalfi Coast with a stop in Amalfi – The Amalfi Coast will take your breath away when you arrive and break your heart when you must go. Its sunny scenery and welcoming locals make one feel like they have arrived in their dream hometown. Its cliffs plunge poetically into the cobalt sea, punctuated only by bursts of verdant vegetation and by the lively little towns that dot its narrow main road as it winds along the southern half of the Sorrentine Peninsula. Its villages rise vertically in colorful bursts, mirrored in the water that kisses its shores. Ancient trails lead further upwards to paths with names like the “Walk of Gods” that offer heavenly views of the marvels of the Gulf of Salerno below. Starstudded resort towns like Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello have long been sought for their artistic air. Bad weather days on the coast are rare, but when life gives the natives off-days, they know just what to do: They take their lemons and make limoncello! Lunch and dinner on your own.
- Oct. 30, 2025 – Excursion to Gragnano with Pasta Factory & Lunch – Arrive in Gragnano, where you will be greeted by a landscape rich with history and culinary tradition. This town is famous for producing some of the best pasta in the world, thanks to its unique climate and centuries-old techniques. Embark on an exclusive guided tour of one of Gragnano’s traditional pasta factories. During this immersive experience, you’ll discover the secrets behind the perfect pasta, from the selection of high-quality durum wheat to the slow-drying process that gives Gragnano pasta its exceptional texture. The factory’s experts will explain the different shapes and their specific uses in Italian cuisine. Gain an understanding of how Gragnano became the world’s pasta capital, with a history that dates back to Roman times. After the factory tour, sit down for a delightful lunch that celebrates the variety and quality of Gragnano pasta. Dinner on your own.
- Oct. 31, 2025 – Excursion to Sorrento with Mozzarella show & Limoncello tasting – The historic seaside town of Sorrento is perched over the awe-inspiring Bay of Naples. Its lovely hotels have welcomed guests since the bygone days of the Grand Tour. Sorrento offers a perfect base for excursions to the surrounding highlights, as it is well-connected to all sites by road, railway, and/or ferry. We arrive at a family-run farmhouse and experience the warmth of Italian hospitality as you are welcomed to the farm. The family will guide you through the farm’s grounds, showcasing their sustainable practices and the beautiful landscape where they grow their produce and raise livestock. After the mozzarella-making show, enjoy a farm-fresh lunch featuring the cheese you just saw being made. The meal will include a selection of local delicacies made with ingredients sourced directly from the farm. Later in the afternoon, we return to our hotel, where dinner is on your own.
- Nov. 1, 2025 – Guided tour of Naples and Pizza cooking class – Naples displays the contrasts that make Italy famous. The new interlaced with the old. Breathtaking beauty juxtaposed with the normal. The simple with the complex. The amalgam of sensorial stimulation the city exudes is impressive: piping hot pizzas and sweet sfogliatelle pastries tempt the taste buds; rich history recounted with the unforgettably unique accent that simultaneously seems to start and stop; the friction of cobblestones underfoot; and the scent of espresso as locals undergo their time-tested coffee consumption rituals at cafés. Naples is an experience. Naples is the birthplace of pizza, so what better place to enjoy an original pizza? Your lunch will be in a local pizzeria where you will taste an amazing pizza and have fun participating in a pizza cooking class! Later, we return to our hotel to enjoy a final night dinner before departing home the next day.
- Nov 2, 2025—Depart for Home—Sadly, we end our tour today. After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Naples Airport (NAP) for your flight home. It’s about a one-hour bus ride, so don’t schedule a flight or train ride before 11 a.m.
