Lake Garda Italian Christmas Markets – Dec. 9 – 16, 2025

This is our exclusive tour to Verona, Lake Garda, and the Christmas Markets in Northern Italy. It was a huge hit in 2024 as most North Americans don’t go to these markets. While they are busy, they are not nearly as crowded and commercialized as other Christmas Markets in Germany and France. In fact, we may be the only people there from North America when we go.

Spend 8 days and 7 nights touring the magical Christmas Markets of Northern Italy!

Our hotels are the 4-Star Ark Hotel in Verona and the 4-star Grand Hotel Riva in Riva del Garda.

Riva del Garda is a resort in northern Italy, on Lake Garda’s north shore and in the northern Italian province of Trento of the Trentino Alto Adige region. Since 2019, the Municipality of Riva del Garda has decided to close the town center to traffic, so it is no longer possible to reach the hotel by bus or to pick up or drop off guests. We park two blocks from the Grand H9tel Riva and walk to and from the hotel. For this reason, the Grand H9tel Riva will arrange a luggage porterage service. The porterage includes one piece of luggage per person.

The tour starts and ends in Verona (VRN).

Our amazing itinerary is:

• Dec. 9, 2025—Arrival in Verona—Arrive in Verona (VRN) and take our bus transfer to the hotel or get to the hotel on your own. The evening is free to explore and relax from your trip here.
• Dec. 10, 2025—Explore Verona—After breakfast at the hotel, we have a 2-hour walking tour of Verona. This evening, go explore the Christmas Market in Verona. The over 100 traditional houses of the Christkindlmarkt are set up in Piazza dei Signori, ready to offer handicraft products, decorations, and many gift ideas. Dinner is on your own.
• Dec. 11, 2025—Transfer to Riva del Garda—After breakfast, we head for Riva del Garda. Once there, check into your hotel and explore Riva del Garda. The lake is an easy walk from the hotel. The small Christmas Market of Riva del Garda is just outside the front door of the hotel. There are lots of restaurant options in the area.
• Dec. 12, 2025—Exploring the South Tyrol Christmas Markets— After breakfast at the hotel, we take our bus to Bolzano and Trento’s Christmas Markets. Enjoy a glass of mulled wine and “Strauben” while shopping for unique handmade items. We return to our hotel and dinner on your own this evening with lots of options nearby.
• Dec. 13, 2025 – Explore the Fairytale Christmas villages of Canale & Rango – We visit two of Italy’s most beautiful villages to sample their Christmas Markets on an altogether more intimate level. Our guided tour of the ancient villages of Canale and Rango will make you feel that you are experiencing a real-life nativity play in which you too, take part!
  Canale is an authentic medieval village dating back to the 1200s, perched on a hill just a few miles from Riva del Garda, which has become reborn since it was abandoned after World War 1. Your guide will explain the history of this village, explaining its rediscovery by artists in the 60s before you will have some time to soak up the Christmas spirit in its cobbled alleyways and enjoy the delicacy of a Carne Salada roll accompanied by a glass of wine before we continue on to the village of Rango, passing by the hidden gem that is Lake Tenno.
  Like Canale, Rango is a member of the Association of Italy’s most beautiful historic villages. Traditional market stalls are cozily arranged in the porches and cellars of this typical old Trentino village. Here, you will become familiar with centuries-old handicrafts and watch artisans as they make their goods and ply their trade. Both stops represent an altogether different but wonderful Christmas market experience. Dinner on your own.
• Dec. 14, 2025 – Explore Riva del Garda & Arco – Today, you have a relaxing day to explore the lakeside resort of Riva del Garda. Take in a stroll along the lakeside promenade or explore the narrow streets of the old town. Stepping out of your hotel you find yourself right in the heart of the town and Riva’s Christmas market. Just 4 km north, Arco offers its own share of a magical Christmas Atmosphere. Make you don’t miss out on buying some crafts or local products to take home with you. Dinner on your own.
• Dec. 15, 2025 — Winter Wonderland to the Castles of Trentino — After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for a full-day tour of the Castles of Trentino and a visit to a local distillery for a Grappa tasting. We return to our hotel and your final evening to enjoy the quaint town of Riva del Garda.
• Dec. 16, 2025—Depart for Home—Sadly, we end our tour today. After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Verona Airport (VRN) for your flight home. It’s about a one-hour bus ride, so don’t schedule a flight or train ride before 11 a.m.

Cost—This will vary depending on how many people sign up, but here is the breakdown. Rates are per person based on double occupancy.

We offer two prices on this tour: one for the public and one for interliners. Interliners are airline employees or spouses, airline retirees or spouses, parents or parents-in-law of airline employees, and anyone traveling with them.

For the public, the price is

• 10 to 14 guests – $1,539pp
• 15 to 19 guests – $1,269pp
• 20 to 24 guests – $1,149pp
• 25 to 29 guests – $1,049pp

Our exclusive price for interliners is below. (You need to be a member of our website and logged in to see the pricing.)

• 10 to 14 guests – $1,419pp
• 15 to 19 guests – $1,169pp
• 20 to 24 guests – $1,059pp
• 25 to 29 guests – $969pp
• Single supplement – add $399 – Limited to 6 single room, first book, first get. Waitlist after that. 

We need a minimum of 10 people to make the tour go. If you sign up at the higher price and we get more people, you will pay the final lower price for the tour. For example, if you sign up when only 10 people have signed up, the cost is the higher price shown. If we end up with over 25 or more going, the price drops, and that price, based on how many are booked, would be the final price you would pay.

Yes, you can bring friends with you, and parents and in-laws of employees can book into this also and go at the same rate as you do at the interlinear. We want to fill the group to 25 or more to decrease the rate. If we get an overwhelming response, we will go to our operator and see about adding a second or third date. Otherwise, once we hit 40, we will have a waitlist in case of cancellations.

If we still have space, the deposit is $500pp at the time of booking. You must book by Sept. 25, 2025.

Final Payment is due by Sept. 15, 2025.

No penalty if you cancel prior to or on Sept. 15, 2025.

50% penalty if canceled after Sept. 15, 2025, and before Oct. 1, 2025.

Full penalty if canceled after Oct. 1, 2025.

If we are unable to operate the tour due to COVID restrictions, then everyone booked will receive a full refund on the credit card they paid with.
