Finally we go over to the World Heritage Site, Ha Long Bay (the site of many films including James Bond’s Tomorrow Never Dies) for an overnight cruise. Then back to Hanoi and we are off to Cambodia. - Nov. 11, 2024 – Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City – Welcome to Vietnam! Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, you are warmly welcomed by our guide and transfer to your hotel for a check in and rest in your rooms to overcome jet lag and freshen up. The rest of the day is free so you can rest from your trip and get ready to explore Vietnam.
- Nov. 12, 2024 – Ho Chi Minh City Tour, Market Visit and Cooking Class – Early breakfast at hotel. This morning, you will take a cooking class for initiates to familiarize yourselves with the varied ingredients and cooking techniques of Vietnamese cuisine. Follow our Chef through the vibrant Ben Thanh market to purchase a selection of ingredients for your cooking lesson. At 9:50 am our Chef will bring you back by Taxi to our cooking class. Take place around our large cooking station to follow our Chef step by step with your own material and ingredients for a good understanding of cooking techniques. You will discover Vietnamese kitchenware to cook and enjoy a tasty 3 courses meal. MSG and enhance flavors are of course forbidden! We will adapt the menu for people vegetarians or with food allergies, let us know your booking in advance so we can accommodate you. If we have 25 or more people in the group then you will be put into teams for competition to see who makes the best dishes. The jury will decide about the winners according to food presentation taste and leaders aptitude to support their teams. Complimentary dessert, Tra Da (Vietnamese tea) and mineral water and folder with detailed recipes so you can recreate the meal when you get home. Transport back to your hotel in Saigon for a short rest. Later, pass by Ho Chi Minh City People Committee (also the old French City Hall before 1975), and Municipal Theatre built in 1899. Left time is saved for you to do shopping at Ben Thanh Market – a most typical market of Vietnam, is a big marketplace in the downtown area of Ho Chi Minh City, with how many things are available for your choice. - Nov. 13, 2024 – Ho Chi Minh City to Mekong Delta and Da Nang and Hoi An – Breakfast at hotel. Then check-out.08:00 Take an interesting excursion to Mekong Rivers, overland 70 kilometers to My Tho town – the “Gateway of Mekong River and its Delta”. Mekong Delta – the rice granary of Vietnam and has vast areas of durian, mango, rambutan and other delicious tropical fruit trees.
Arrival My Tho and transfer to the bank of Mekong River, take a motor river-boat which to be rent exclusively for the group then crossing the Upper River and cruising along Tan Long Peninsula, let’s enjoy this golden moment to relax the verdant luxuriant sceneries of the watery region, taste very fresh coconut milk, disembark and visit a island. Walking on the quite country roads, you will reach to local lush orchards, taste delicious fresh fruits, drink hot tea with honey during the traditional melodies and folk music surround you. From here you can observe the life of the Mekong River Delta, the main source of rice and many other agricultural products of Vietnam.
Enjoy also a short tour by electric car on the village roads.
Take boat trip along the canal network with a bit of adventure mood in Ben Tre Province to visit a bee farm and then a coconut candy workshop.
Till now rivers and artificial canals are an important circulation system of the Mekong Delta.
14:00 Drive back to Saigon, to Tan Son Nhat Airport for flight VN 142 SGN-DAD 17:35-19:05 (Supposed) to Da Nang city. Upon arrival at Da Nang, drive straight to Hoi An city.
Arrival at Hoi An ancient town which lies on the banks of the Thu Bon River, 30 km south of Danang, has a distinct Chinese atmosphere with low, tile-roofed houses and narrow streets; the original structure of some of these streets still remains almost intact. Occupied by early western traders, Hoi An was one of the major trading centers of Southeast Asia in the 16th century. All the houses were made of rare wood, decorated with lacquered boards and panels engraved with Chinese characters. Pillars were also carved with ornamental designs. Transfer to hotel for check in and free at leisure.

- Nov. 14, 2024 – Hoi An – Breakfast at hotel. We depart the hotel at 9:00. Enjoy the Lantern Festival in Hoi An. Firstly, enjoy an interesting Coconut boat tour (basket boat) for visiting the Bay Mau Coconut Forest as it is a wonderful ecological spot in Hoi An. The basket boat through the coconut village is enjoyable, and this would be the highlight of your trip.
Afterwards, drive to the Ancient Town- another UNESCO site which is considered one of the most impressive and historic city centers in the country. Visit the following land marks :

> Quan Cong Temple
> Thang Loi Handicraft workshop in Phan Chu Trinh Street, You will have the chance to experience all the typical traditional handicraft of Hoi An, such as wood carving, mat weaving, lantern making, silk worm raising, spinning and weaving, table cloth making and embroidery picture.
After that, transfer to the workshop in the Cam Chau Village for Lantern Making Class. The instructor gives a brief intro on the history, shapes, and colours of lanterns. You choose your favourite design and construct a lantern of your own. At the end of the class, you cycle back to your hotel with your newly made souvenir.
In the evening, the town comes alive as it is lit up by hundreds of lights with vibrant street performance at the square. We sail down the Hoai River amidst the warm glow of floating candles along the river. Spend the rest of the evening at the night market to shop and taste local delights. Overnight in Hoi An.
- Nov. 15, 2024 – Hoi An, Tra Que Village and Hue – Breakfast at hotel. Then check-out. 8:00am our tour guide will meet you at the hotel lobby and we start the Hoi An cooking class tour. We start the tour by cycling to Hoi An central market. Here, we will learn how to choose good and fresh ingredients to be used in our cooking lesson. The market is not the place where local people sell and buy things, but also the tight community. Plus, It is the place where they can see and chat with their friends. We will see many kinds of goods, fruits, souvenirs, and animals. The market is the perfect place to learn how to bargain as well.
After that, we continue cycling to Tra Que, a charming little village of Hoi An. The place where we will learn how to cook and compete with each other to become a new local MASTER CHEF.
In the village, we will get a special welcome drink from the locals. After that, we take a short break, we will go with a local farmer to visit the village with many kinds of herbs, vegetables, and fruits.
Learning how to do some farming work, wearing farming clothes to do some light works with the traditional methods of hundreds of years ago, no electrical machinery here.
Finally, we go back to the local farmer’s house. Then, we start the Tra Que cooking class to learn how to cook some specialties such as Tra Que vegetable salad Tam Huu, Vietnamese rice pancakes, and fried spring rolls. At the end of the cooking course, the local master chef will tell you who would be the winner. Lately, we will enjoy what we have just cooked as lunch.
To finish the tour Cooking class at Tra Que vegetable village, we will enjoy a foot massage made from local herbal medicines.
Continue the tour to Thanh Ha Ceramic Village with a history of over 500 years. Thanh Ha ceramics are unique due to being formed from local brown clay, with the perfect combination of elasticity and adhesiveness. As with the brown clay, when walking the streets of Hoi An Ancient Town you will find the main color schemes to be brown, yellow, and dark red… Those are the colors of the earth, the lumber, and the ceramic tiles made from the ceramic village.
At Thanh Ha ceramic village, not only can you immerse themselves in the rustic environment of the peaceful countryside, but you can also choose a variety of souvenirs for friends and families, or try your hands at creating your own unique ceramics.
Here, you have the opportunity to observe local potters employ their skills to create beautiful and artful ceramics. Through many processes, each lump of clay are shaped by hand on potter’s wheels to become different ceramic products.
Then, board your transport to transfer to Hue Royal City – the Complex of Monuments, the heart of central Vietnam served as Vietnam’s political capital 1802 to 1945 under the 13 emperors of the Nguyen Dynasty and was recognized as the World Cultural Heritage Site. Hue – has been the Capital of a unified Vietnam, built at about the beginning of the 19th century, combines the oriental philosophy with the traditions of Vietnam. Intimately mingled with the natural environment, the beauty and special richness of the architecture and decorative art of the building are an original image of the Vietnamese monarchy at its most prosperous period.

- Nov. 16, 2024 – Hue City Tour and Hanoi – Breakfast at hotel. Then check-out. 9:00 You leave to visit the mighty Imperial City, photo-stop at the Royal National high-school and its Royal Stele on the bank of Perfume River, which was the most famous National school in Vietnam, visit The Imperial City – Purple Forbidden City, is the best-preserved remnant of a vast citadel and royal quarters that once existed on the site. To put the ruins into context, it is important to consider how they were originally used., there are a network of palaces, gates, and courtyards that served as The Emperor’s home and the administrative core of the Empire, visit The Flag Tower – a huge structure of three flat-top pyramids, the nine holy cannons are housed in two buildings beside the The Nhan and Quang Duc Miradors in the Citadel of Hue, Palace of the Supreme Harmony, was the building for great court’s meetings. It faces the Noontime Gate (Ngo Mon Gate) and lies right on the central axis of the Citadel, The Mieu Temple is situated southwest of the Citadel and facing south, dedicated to ten Emperors of the Nguyen Dynasty, then The Royal Theater – DUYET THI DUONG was the oldest of Vietnamese traditional stage that remained Transfer to the Royal Marina and continuing boat upstream to visit Thien Mu Pagoda (Pagoda of Heavenly Lady).

Then, final visit will be the Royal Tomb of Khai Dinh King, is the final resting place of the Emperor of Vietnam from 1916-1925. The tomb represents a fusion of traditional Vietnamese style and modern influence, the tomb is almost entirely made of concrete and includes many European architectural details.

- Nov. 17, 2024 – Full Day in Hanoi – Breakfast at hotel. 08:30 Let’s experience the basic concepts of political Vietnam currently by visit to the Chairman Palace area, there are Ho Chi Minh mausoleum, Ba Dinh National square, Stilt House; One Pillar Pagoda, a nice group picture should photo in the parade yard of Ba Dinh National square with the great back view of Ho Chi Minh mausoleum. Continuing to visit Tran Quoc Pagoda is located on an islet of West Lake, then the Temple of Literature, is a classic Confucianism temple from the category “Confucianism”, was founded as a Confucian Temple and a huge statue and alter to Confucius remain there today, the first university in Viet Nam was founded here and many rows and rows of big stone slabs that sat on the backs of stone tortoises. - Nov. 18, 2024 – Hanoi to Halong Bay – Breakfast at hotel. Breakfast at hotel. Then check-out. 8:30 Transfer to Halong Bay pier by bus/van. Halong Bay, in northeast Vietnam, is known for its emerald waters and thousands of towering limestone islands. Designated a World Heritage site in 1994, the bay is a “must-see” place for any visitor to Vietnam, especially an overnight trip on a traditional wooden junk. Landscapes en route are very interesting with the immense rice-fields, farmers are working in the fields, small and peace villages … there are the sweet beginnings to talk with then explanation of Vietnam by our tour guide. In 1994 UNESCO classified Halong Bay as a World Natural Heritage and in November 2000, the World Heritage Committee reconfirmed this classification, your excursion to Halong Bay will re-evaluate the classification of UNESCO to this fairyland.

15:45 ACTIVITIES Leaving Surprising cave, keep moving by tender to the Titov island was named by Uncle Ho, after Gherman Stepanovich Titov – the Soviet astronaut who visited in 1962. DAY 2: HA LONG BAY – HANOI (B/L)

07:00 BREAKFAST A light breakfast is ready to serve at the restaurant
08:00 VISITING CAVE Visit “Luon” cave» – one of the caves open to the form beautiful endemic then vegetation of Halong Bay. 2 options to choose how to discover it: kayaking for free and traditional woven (bamboo) boat rowed by a local boatman (public ticket 50.000?/person)
09:00 CHECK OUT Come back to Athena cruise, relaxing and packing the luggage. Leave the luggage outside the door. Athena team will collect and get them ready on the Pier.
09:30 BRUNCH Enjoy a brunch buffet at the restaurant after check-out while cruising toward the port.
10:45 GOODBYE Transfer by tender back to Halong International Habour and disembarkation. Farewell to guests.

After the cruise, board your transport for your flight to VN 843 HAN-SAI 18:00-19:50 (supposed) to Siem Reap. Arrive at the Siem Reap – Angkor International Airport. A warm welcome to everybody, a moment of courtesy meeting then self-introduces with a tour guide in the meeting point’s Siem Reap Airport. Siem Reap – The Cradle of Angkor Civilization – Where Cambodians were Born, this is also a famous Archaeological City, named one of the seven greatest architectural wonders of the World. Covering approximately 600 sq km, it contains more than 100 fabulous ancient monuments and over dozen major compound Temples, which were built during the most splendid Era of the Khmer Dynasty between the 9th – 13th centuries and were the ancient capital of the Khmer Empire.
Transfer to the hotel for check-in and rest for the night.

- Nov. 20, 2024 – Full Day Tour of Siem Reap – 8:30am After breakfast, enjoy a full day excursion to discover Angkor Temples. Firstly, you will visit the wonderful Angkor Thom (the Great City) including the Southern Gate, famous Bayon temple (12th century in the center of city remains one the most enigmatic temples of the Angkor group composed of 54 gothic towers decorated with 216 smiling faces of Avalokitesvara. Baphuon temple is lying just to the north of Bayon a pyramidal representation of mythical Mont Meru. Terrace of Elephants used as a giant reviewing stand for public ceremonies and served as a base for the king’s grand audience hall ; Terrace of the Leper King a plateform 7m high, on the top stands a nude though sexless statue; Phimean Akas temple means “Celestial Palace”, dedicated to Hinduism.
Afternoon, visit the wonderful Angkor Wat – one of the seven greatest architectural wonders of the world, as a temple and mausoleum for King Suryavarman II at the peak of the Khmer empire in the first half of 12th. Angkor Wat is probably the best-preserved of the Angkorean temples, with a central tower surrounded by four smaller towers. The central monument represents the mythical Mount Meru, the holy mountain at the centre of the universe, which was home to the Hindu God Vishnu. The whole complex covers 81 hectares, a rectangular wall measuring 1025 meters by 800 meters borders the inner edge of the moat, and temple’s greatest sculptural treasure is its 2 km-long bas-reliefs around the walls…
In the late afternoon, coming to the Phnom Bakheng temple, which is the first temple in Angkor region build by the King Yacovarman I in the first of 9th century, located on a slope gently hill where thousands tourist are grouping on the hilltop to catch a memorable time of life when viewing the marvellous sunset, the distant Angkor Wat in the jungle and Tonle Sap Lake.

- Nov. 21, 2024 – Full Day Tour of Siem Reap – Breakfast at hotel.
8:30am A continuing full-day tour for the Angkor complex. Visit Thommanon, a small, attractive temple in very good condition, built at the same time as Angkor Wat. Its Angkor Wat style is most easily seen in the style of the carved Apsaras and the shape of the tower, Chaosay Tevoda, it seems to stand in partnership with Thommanon but was built much later in Suryavarman II’s rule than Thommanon, Banteay Kdei, Srash Srong. Then visit Kravan & especially Ta Phrom Temple, which was a monastery built by Jayavarman VII as a residence for his mother. Ta Prohm has been controversially left to the destructive power of the jungle by French archeologists to show how nature can destroy man’s work. It has been largely overgrown by the jungle and as you climb through the dilapidated stone structures you see many giant trees growing out of the top of the temple itself. Ta Prohm looks as many of the monuments did when European explorers first laid eyes on them.
After that, excursion to Grand Circuit, visit Pre Rup, traditionally believed to be a funerary temple, but the state temple of Rajendravarman II. Mebon is, an architecturally and artistically superior temple-mountain. Beautifully carved false doors on the upper level as well as an excellent view of the surrounding countryside. Tasom is the most distant temple on the grand circuit. Small but classic Jayavarman VII temple, Neak Pean, which means ‘coiled serpents, from the uncoiled Nagas that encircled the temple. The temple is faced by a statue of the horse, Balaha, saving drowning sailors and Preah Khan, ‘Preah Khan’ means ‘sacred sword’. In harmony with Ta Prohm, which was dedicated to Jayavarman VII’s mother, Preah Khan is dedicated to his father.

Take a traditional wooden boat for a ride on the Tonle Sap rivers, the ” Great Lake ” of Cambodia and the largest in Asia, its extraordinary bio-diversity and hydrology make it an ecological wonder of the world, offer visitors an insight into the old tradition of riparian life and natural splendour of Cambodia. You also visit the handicraft of the sculpture center « les Artisans d’Angkor », the finest authentic Khmer arts and crafts, stone & wood carving, lacquer ware, furniture making, silk weaving & accessories. Finally, visit and do shopping at Old Market & colonial quarter; take your time to enjoy a busy market day, communicating with the local sales and all sorts of their products. It’s quite a sight to see, to give somewhat a picture of Cambodian social living.
After the tour, transfer to Siem Reap – Angkor International airport for the departure flight back home. Should arrive at the Siem Reap airport around 1pm.

We have a 15 person minimum to make the tour go. If you sign up at the higher price and we get more people, you will end up paying what the final price for the tour ends up. For example, you sign up when we only have 20 people signed up, the cost is the higher price shown. But if we end up with over 35 or more going the price drops and that price based on how many are booked would be the final price you would pay.
Yes you can bring friends with you and parents and in-laws of employees can book into this also and go at the same rate as you do as the NATCA member. We want to fill the group to 40 to get the rate down. If we get an overwhelming response we will go to our operator and see about adding a 2nd or 3rd date. Otherwise once we hit 40 we will have a waitlist in case of cancellations.
Deposit is $500pp at the time of booking.
Final Payment is due on Aug. 20, 2024.
No penalty if you cancel prior to or on Aug. 20, 2024.
Full penalty if cancelled after Aug., 2024.
